Bij mijn restauraties bleek al gauw dat draaiwerk noodzakelijk is.

Om draaiwerk uit te besteden kom je vaak terecht bij professionele en daardoor dure bedrijven die exacte maatvoeringen nodig hebben en uiteraard perfect werk leveren.

Bij de aanpassingen aan de ID donor versnellingsbak heb ik besloten een grotere draaibank aan te schaffen.

Voor mede-hobbyisten kan ik draaiwerk uitvoeren. Niet tegen financiële beloning, maar liever door het ruilen van spullen.

During the restauration process it soon became clear that a larger lathe was necessarry.

To have such work done by a company will cost you, let alone that it is virtually impossible in the Netherlands to find a company that is willing to help you.

So I bought a new lathe, much bigger than the old one, with a spanwidth of over 60 centimeters. This was necessarry to have the crankshaft from the ID engine made shorter and the differential shafts modified , both needed for the Traction Avant.

For the repairwork at the body of the cars I bought a semi-professional MIG welding machine.

For fellow- club members I am willing to do work with the lathe, for instance against trading parts. I am always interested in 4-speed early ID gearboxes (from an ID with the longhaul TA engine) and bell houses from the TA.
