TA & DS cruise control

Nadat alles klaar was, was het rijden met de TA nogal sloom. De inbouw van cruise control was eigenlijk een mooie aanvulling op het rustige rijden dat met de TA vanzelf gaat.

 

Maar— een 12 Volt aansluiting en een onderdruk punt zit er niet op.

 

Dus een 6 naar 12 Volt converter ingebouwd, onder het dashboard. Met een kleine 12 Volt accu.

De onderdruk is van het overlooppijpje voor overtollige benzine van het in-uitlaatspruitstuk afgetakt.

Op de aandrijfas is een magneet gelijmd, en de oppikspoel is aan de carrosserie bevestigd met een beugel, naast de versnellingsbak.

De bediening is met dubbelzijdige tape op het dashboard gemaakt.

 

Op de DS idem, maar zonder converter naar 12 Volt.

After everything was ready, driving the TA appeared to be cool. And sluggish.

So, I decided to build-in a cruise control system. Which is not easy because there is no adaptation for 12 Volt, nor for underpressure.

The fuel-leaking pipe from the inlet/exhaust manifolt is used as underpressure feeding point and the 12 Volt is obtained  by building in a converter from 6 Volt to 12 Volt, including a small lead-acid battery under the dashboard. This made it also  possible to get a normal radio/CD player built-in.

The neccessary pick-up coil for measuring the speed is built besides a differential axel, and the magnet is glued to the axel.

The control mechanism is stuck to the dashboard with double-sided adhesive tape.

 

Ditto for the DS.
